We got to celebrate/trick or treat twice this year!! Last Friday, Ben’s mom was in town, and I wanted to make sure she got to see Ruby in her costume, so we went to a local Halloween event in Atwater Village. Tons of kids parading up and down Glendale Blvd, hitting every shop along the way. It was a zoo, but really fun. Ruby was nervous at first but got into it pretty fast and got a great stash of goodies. Mostly lollipops, which pretty much is her favorite thing ever.
Last night, my folks came and we had dinner before the main event… Then we got Ruby all dolled up again, and added a few special accessories (glowstick wand and mask, thank you Target $1 bin!!) She was pretty much running out the door by the time Ben got home.
Just as we were about to go, a little lion named Ainsley was our first trick or treater… And Ruby being Ruby invited her in. I love how kids at this age are instant BFFs. We hit a couple houses with Miss Ainsley-she and Ruby held hands the whole time. Insane amounts of cute!!
Then Ainsley had to go home
but we went up a few more blocks an circles back around. Our neighborhood has been really quiet the last 4 years, so I didn’t buy very much candy this year… Thereby guaranteeing a boom year in the ‘hood. We ran out of candy in an hour. :/ But that also meant that there were tons of people out, which made trick or treating a LOT more fun than last year!!
That last one is Ruby’s reaction to finding out what a Reese’s cup is.

That’s so funny. We were there and didn’t even know that Ruby & Ainsley did that or that you all went together for a while. So adorable. As was your Butterfly Fairy Princess.
